You imagine an unskilled interpreter
at an international conference. What a mess they could make
of international relations Well if your own mind interpreter
is not very well trained what a mess it will make of your
life.
A good interpreter will have not
only a good understanding of the different languages, but
also the cultural differences. The meaning of body language,
dress and eating habits to name but a few. So you have different
aspects of mind the conscious and the subconscious that need
an interpreting aspect to communicate properly with each other.
For it to be effective in its job it needs to know the dynamic
differences in how each aspect of the mind operates.
The conscious mind is like the
captain of a large ship, he makes the day to day decisions.
The crew, the subconscious, maintain and keep the ship in
good working order. They rely on good clear communication
from the captain. If there is conflict or a break down in
communication the ships safety, health would be at risk.
Well so it is with your mind,
when the captain and crew are working in harmony you are happy
and everything is going well. The crew is the power house
of the ship without them the captain would be just about useless.
Without the captain the crew could lose direction and drive.
