The
subconscious has been doing this same behavior for twenty
years and then out of the blue you want to change it.
Sure, it's just one of those fads you're going through right?
The subconscious needs convincing that you're genuine about
this. So how do you convince it this is what you really want?
The same way you taught it in the first place, by repeating
the behavior you want over and over and giving it positive
instruction to that effect.
If you use negative statements
you give the wrong instructions to the subconscious and defeat
yourself. Concentrate on what you want, not on what you don't
want. So give yourself clear instructions of what you want.
Remember "Leave the room tidy", say what you want
and allow time for change, new behavior takes time to become
second nature.
Where your mind focuses becomes
your reality and that is why it is very important to focus
on what you want. Because if you focus on what you don't want
that becomes your reality. Years ago there was a movie produced
that portrayed Jesus as having an affair, The Movie was not
well known but some Christian people were deeply upset by
it. SO they protested about what they didn't want. They attracted
so much publicity about the movie, that it became a box office
hit. They were trying to stop people seeing the movie, but
instead many times more people saw it than would have.
